🎶 Piano Masterclass Highlights

Sunday, November 9, 2025   2:00-3:30pm

PianoPiano Studios - Lincoln Center

 

Individual Coaching

  • Work directly with conservatory faculty and concert pianists in front of peers.

 Interpretation & Artistic Expression

  • Develop your personal voice and deepen your understanding of historical and stylistic context.

 Technique & Mastery Workshops

  • Focus on advanced topics such as touch, pedaling, voicing, articulation, and memory techniques.

 Feedback & Dialogue

  • Participate in constructive critiques and group discussions to grow both as a performer and listener.

 

Format

Ages 11-18: Middle & High School 

Ages 18-27: College & Pre-Professional

Perform 1 piece from the solo repertoire from the 4 major stylistic periods; length 7 min maximum.

🎯 Who Should Attend?

  • Ages 11–18: Intermediate and advanced piano students preparing for school auditions, competitions, performances and youth programs.

  • Ages 18–27: College students, recent graduates, and young professionals pursuing music degrees, preparing for competitions, performances, or launching performance careers.

 

🎵 What to Bring  - Repertoire

Participants should prepare one classical solo work, such as:

  • A movement from a Sonata (Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, etc.)

  • A Romantic or 20th-century piece (Chopin, Debussy, Prokofiev, etc.)

  • A Baroque work (Bach Prelude & Fugue, etc.)

 

Need help selecting a piece? We’ll guide you toward repertoire that highlights your strengths and individuality.

Repertoire Review

Practice & Performance Tips

  • Get strategies on mental preparation, managing performance anxiety, and structuring practice effectively.
